A few of my favorite things

So today in lieu of an outfit (i looked like a mess) I'm posting some of the beauty products I can't live without! So, first things first, makeup. My basic day to day look consists of BB cream, mascara, bronzer and a lip color.

extra oil w lash mascara- rimmel, velvetines- lime crime, Dallas bronzer- Benefit, BB cream-cvs brand

Like I said, my everyday look is simple and quick. I don't like to wear too much makeup, so this is just enough to look alive, hah.

After a long day nothing feels better than washing my face.
makeup remover- Equate, moisturizer- Boots, face wash- Neutrogena, facial brush- Sephora

I like to really clean my face well, so I bought this facial brush to use with the face wash. My face looks and feels amazing! The Boots moisturizer is the best I've ever used. My skin is super sensitive and oily and this Boots brand really works well with my picky skin.

I'm still searching for a shampoo and conditioner, but I've found the perfect hair oil and treatment!

coconut oil- Monoi of Maui, moroccan argan oil- Organix

I fell in love with this coconut oil while on vacation in Hawaii. I use it as a body oil and as a conditioning treatment for my hair. Bonus! It smells amazing and my skin and hair feels soft and silky. For everyday hair treatment, I use the oil by Organix. It helps keep my hair frizz-free and shiny.

So those are my favorite things!

My little pony tail

Hello peeps. Another long work day passes and I managed to step out of my period slump. I wore a leopard print tee and some forest green skinnies. I realized that my personal style tends to lean towards comfy shirts and pants, so I try to mix it up by wearing something either colorful or printed on top and bottom. Mixing and matching. Fun.

top and skinnies- h&m

I rocked what has been my new go-to hair-do for the past few weeks, yup, the side pony. God, I honestly love how I look rocking this do. To me, its better than the sock bun. Yeah, totally over the perfect bun. Anywho, I love my look today. Yeah, rock that pony!

cheers!!!

Viva la knockoff

I've been MIA... period problems. Today's post is one of my favorite shirts. Pink dripping cc long sleeve that's ridiculously comfortable. I think all my shirts should be in this drapey, loose style. Perfection. Shorts are star-spangled awesomeness. I love today's look. Lazy life.

Smells like teen spirit

So this morning it was cold. (68 degrees is cold by So Cal standards okay) I had to be at work by 7, and knowing that it would be hot later I didn't want to wear a jacket. What's the next best thing to wear then? A studded flannel, yay! Now, I'm PMS-ing, so all I really want to do is wear sweatpants cuz they're the only thing that fit me right now, but alas, sweats are NSFW. What's the next best thing to wear then? High-waisted, shiny leggings, yay!

flannel- h&m, leggings- DTLA, glasses- h&m

Now no 90's grunge look is complete without a tiny backpack. God I love my lil packy.

Ain't she cute? So yeah, thats my take on grunge. Commercial grunge? At least I do actually listen to those Seattle bands.

Breakfast bunch

Mmmmm, breakfast. Went to a nice family breakfast this morning. Pancakes rule! The weather is grey and sprinkling here and there, but it's still warm enough for shorts. I went with a loose-fitting,.printed pair. I love these shorts, but I've only wore them like, twice. When I first bought them, they barely fitand now that I've lost some lbs, they're too loose! I probably will have to put them in the donate pile. I topped off the shorts with a denim blousethat I got on sale at Kohl's. I added some tan wedge booties to pull the look together.

Top- Kohls, shorts-h&m, booties-marshalls

Now I'm going to nap before I have to work my 5-11pm shift. That's crap, right. Some bull-shift. Oh well, have a lovely Sunday.

Cheers!

Fun with fringe

Well hello hello. Today's look was fringey and fiery. I wore a black tank top with a rad feather print and trimmed with fringe! Super cute, fun shirt. I found it at a small shop that unfortunately went outta business. Sad. I paired the top with some red pants and brown wedges and was off to work to deal with the same shit. Oh well, I looked and felt pretty awesome, so I guess that's all that matters.

Top- pretty good, pants- h&m, shoes-justfab, accessories- h&m

Big bow babe

Today got some pretty good news concerning my career. So keep your fingers crossed for me, k, thanks! Anywho, so what did I wear today? I opted for a black tank top and leopard printed pants.

What keeps this outfit from being to blah is  what's going on in the back. (I wish it was my booty)
Look at that cute bow! Ugh, I know. It's such an unexpected little detail and that's why I love it so.
Cheers!!!

Juvenile delinquent

Today's outfit was inspired by one of my favorite movies, Crybaby. For some reason this top reminds me of something that a scrape dame would wear. It must be the color and peplum trim. I paired it with old jeans (I need a new pair), red lips and flats. To add something different to not go full retro, I threw on my glasses. All in all I love this damn blouse.

Top, jeans, glasses- h&m

And I love Crybaby. If you haven't seen it, you haven't lived.

Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. OMG shoes.

Hell-o everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!) Huh? Today is all about shoes. Don't get me wrong, I love clothes and all, but there is something about a shoe that gets me going. It's like the chick from the movie In Her Shoes said; "You can't look fat in shoes." Or something to that nature, but I mean it's freaking true! I never feel like a blob in 5-inch heels. Even with my big ol size 9 patas, when I'm in the right shoe my feet feel surprisingly dainty and feminine. Like in this pair my wonderful sister sent me. (Thanks sizzle!)

They're super cute, right! They're Massimo from Target. Good ole Target.
Top: Lola Daisy, bottom: Celestia-
 both from Just Fab! (BOGO)

How about these 2 pairs I just got in the mail yesterday? Swoon!!! I wore the Lola's to work today. And sheesh, people were very concerned about me having foot pain. No pain, no gain, and I looked hot!!!  However, I got right into my p.j.s  when I got home today and then I remembered,  I forgot to take a picture. Aw crap, I'm the worst style blogger.  So yeah, I really need to start taking pictures right when I get ready.

Anyways, let's go buy some shoes and then rock the hell outta them!!!

cheers!

Not so basic black

hello everyone. Today's post is all about being anything but basic. If you're living here in L.A. you've noticed the weather has been super humid and muggy lately, yuck. I originally wanted to wear shorts, but alas, all my shorts are NSFW... sorry, not sorry. I decided on a basic black skirt and tank top combo, but I ain't no basic bitch! To amp up the boring black I wore my sheer brown kimono and my super cutie booties! Bam, what a difference one unique piece can make. I felt very fierce today, ready to take on the wild world of retail. What can I say, it was a good day.

kimono-jeanology in uptown Whittier, tank and skirt- h&m, booties- got em at Ross

I wish I woulda accessorized a bit more, with maybe a statement necklace and a cuff or something, but oh well, you get the idea. I'm proud of myself for pulling off that heel for 8 hours too. I definitely will be incorporating more heels into my day to day from now on.

Cheers!

Mellow yellow

Hi everyone. Today was a little crazy, but life  can be a little crazy now and then.  I try to remember  to look on the bright side. Positivity is something that I'm trying to incorporate more into my day to day, and I'm hoping that this will bring bigger and better things in my life. So enough idealism, let's get to the clothes. I've been going through a yellow dress phase this spring and summer. I have 3 in my closet, hah! What I like about today's dressy dress in particular is how vibrant it is. I mean how could I NOT smile while wearing this? I  topped it off with my denim vest that's starting to really show the mileage. (Note to self, get a new vest.) I paired this with my cowboy boots that I am crazy in love with. Seriously, every girl needs a pair of cowboy(girl?) boots!

Long lost lazy girl

Hellooooo... anyone there? It's me, at long last, back in the blogging game! I'm not gonna make excuses, but I'm feeling totally inspired and wanting to dressy dress up lately. Anywho, today's outfit was a simple t-shirt and skirt, but with a twist! Leopard and turquoise... and a tan! Throw in my favorite lip color, Suedeberry, and I look nice and pulled together. Did I mention I'm obsessed with the Lime Crime Velvetines, because I am.
Top- H&M, skirt-H&M

P.S. Just Fab is having a BOGO again, I'm waiting for 2 new pairs... I'll keep you updated, go buy some.
cheers!

The laziness took over

So it's been forever, forever, for-eh-verrrrr... and I apologize, truly. Laziness is really a problem, and lately most of my outfits were just eh, so that sucks. I think it's cuz I've been crazy stressed at work and I'm like "why waste a nice outfit when I know I'm gonna be on my knees cleaning and shit"? Which is a bad attitude to have, I know. I need to stay positive. I can't remember where I left you, but I will add that besides work being a pain in the ass, I'm pretty happy with my life at the moment. I'm going to Hawaii in about 31 days!!! So I've been planning and shopping for clothes and outfits for that. (Post to follow) I've also started working out like crazy and when I say crazy, I mean the Insanity videos!! Never been so sore or sweaty in my life. I've also decided I hate bangs and I'm never getting them again! I mean it this time because growing themn out is the worst and my hair literally grows like a centimeter a year! Anyways, I want to say sorry once again and I'm seriously trying my hardest to look, feel, be my best, so stay tuned peeps.

Xoxo cheers!!!!

Gold and neon

Yesterday was a beautiful day in good ol' south Cali. It was nice and hot, yass! I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous day so I went sleeveless. The blouse was sheer, so I wore a neon yellow crop top underneath. The sheerness (?) of the white blouse muted the neon a bit, but the effect was still popping! I added I thick chained gold necklace and some jeans for the perfect laid-back look. I was pleased with the look.

Date night

So I went on a date with my hubby a week or so ago and I haven't posted anything lately, so here is my date night look. I wanted to look cute and sexy, so my choice was a beige lace long-sleeve, jeggings, and some brown knee high boots. I also tried out a new hairstyle tonight that I saw on one of my favorite blogs, a beautiful mess, and yes, it was a beautiful mess. Hah!!!

Valentines Sweetie

Happy day after Valentines day! Hope you all got to spend the day with your loved ones and lots of candy... or in my case, beer and wings :) All in all I had a perfect day with my handsome hubby. My outfit was chosen to today to express the lovely feeling in the air, of course. A tee shirt reading "Love never fails". A bright red hat to match bright red heart decorations. Sexy leather-like leggings that beg to be touched, and of course, my favorite heels! I felt beautiful, sexy, and of course, like the luckiest girl in the world since I was with my mister. I'd have to say it was a perfect day.

I got bangs. Yay me. Here's what I wore today: feather printed tank top under my H&M coat, jeans, and leopard flats. I love my new hair. I look much more chic, right?

pms kills

So first let me apologize for the time-lapse. I've been forgetting to take pictures of my outfits and I've been in a PMS-lazy-grumpy phase. Yeah, sorry. So today it was super chilly and I had to go to work, blah. I hate getting out of bed on cold days, so that is why my hair was thrown up into a crazy bun. I put on my minty-blue sweater paired with my "leather" leggings, so I was pretty comfy and warm all day. Yay, and when I got home my cute little neighbor told me she couldn't "get over how cute I look!" D'aww, I admit, I blushed.

P.S. I saw the commercial for the Love collection by Prabal Gurung for Target and I am super excited. I may have to grab a piece or 2 from their collection. I just love the bright colors and the sweet, sexiness it has.

Call me Clark, Clark Kent

Today I felt like a boy, so I dressed like one. Yeah, I feel like a dude sometimes, wanna fight about it. Anyways, I wore my Los Angeles tee, my red pants and my new favorite accessory, my glasses. It ended up looking a little  Superman (supergirl?) Amazing. Being a boy is easy.

Day and night

So today's post is about transitioning my outfit from day to night. Yesterday I had to go to work and I would be busy,so being comfortable was a factor for me. I wore gray leopard-print pants, a plain black tank top, my favorite vest and my black booties. Those darn booties, although cute, get ridiculously uncomfortable, so that sucked! I lightly curled my hair and threw on some simple concealer and chap-stick, and I was out the door.
vintage vest, tank top- H&M, leopard pants- H&M, booties- Ross

Later that night we went to dinner, and I didn't want to look too casual. It got colder so I wanted to wear a cute jacket or sweater. I decided to go with an over-sized blazer, which kept me warm and looked cute, yay. I wore my Lorraina's again and for being 5 inches I have to say they are more comfortable than the booties I was wearing earlier! Last thing I put on was my Lime Crime Velvetine in suedeberry. Its a matte lipstick that applies like a gloss and it lasts forever! I'm obsessed. Any who, these quick and simple changes made my outfit into a whole different look.

3 day weekend

I've been lagging on posting, so let me say sorry for that. On Saturday it was nice and warm out, so I went with a very spring peplum shirt. I love the print on it and when I first considered buying the shirt I was kinda intimidated by the peplum. Luckily I stepped out of my comfort zone and bought it. Yay. I just wore it with some jeans and pink sandals, sorry I didn't get a full shot.
top- H&M
On Sunday I watched football, so I wore a new Patriots shirt, go pats! Anyways, no picture of that either, sorry.  So today I wanted to wear a dress and I'm glad I did. It was nice and warm today. The dress is pretty versatile, so I could easily dress it up for a nice dinner or date with my mister. To make it more casual I added one of my favorite pieces, my denim vest. With my leopard flats and straight hair I felt very light and pretty.

Fancy lady

I wore my wonderful coat today and I was called fancy. So yeah, fancy me with horrible photography skills. Oh well. I wore it over a white blouse and skinny jeans. That's it. Simple and chic, ooh-la-la.

Wrinkled up

Today I had an errand to run and I almost went in my p.j.'s, GASP!!! Fortunately, I thought better of it and threw on a wrinkled top and jacket. Ha. The stars of today's ensemble were definitely my accessories. So here they are.

As you can see, I'm all wrinkled up, which is why I am going to invest in a steamer ASAP since I hate to iron, obviously.

Well it's on sale, so I need it

Today's outfit was pretty boring. So boring that I didn't bother taking a picture of it. Sigh, being fashionable when you're lazy is tough. Instead of what I wore, today I'll show you what I will be wearing someday. First up is this really cute hi-low hemmed, black and yellow dress that I got from a cute store called Cotton On at the Montclair mall. It was only, brace yourselves, $7.50! What! Amaze-balls! Can't wait till it gets warmer so I can rock this dress with my Lorraina's from Just Fab.
Hi-low dress- Cotton On
Next up are yet another pair of flats. I know, I have a shoe problem that gets harder to control when the shoes in question are only $3.50, whaaat! Yes my friends, only three dollars and fifty cents. Ridiculous! Go to H&M and grab yourself a pair or two.

Velvet bow flats- H&M
Now my next item up is the very Chanel-like overcoat. Once I saw it, it really spoke to me. The collar features a beaded detail that is beautifully done. The price for this beauty, $15! H&M Trend is the more higher end line, the original price being $79.95. I couldn't pass up on this baby. I can't wait to play around with some outfits for her.
Tweed overcoat- H&M Trend
Last, but not least, another dress. This dress caught my eye because of the bright color. The 2nd reason is that my brother is getting married in March and the theme is country. Hello June Carter Cash! I can't wait to tease my hair and throw on some boots for the wedding. This dress is also from Cotton On and it was on sale for $7.50. Score.

Mockingjay

Today's outfit was just thrown together quickly... like 30 mins before I had to leave for work. Why, you ask? Because of Katniss Everdeen! I got super into the last part of the book and I couldn't stop reading! Ahhh, so good. I can't wait to see the movie. Now for the clothes. Same red pants from a previous post. I wore my leopard flats. Seriously, they are super duper comfortable. I love them. The scarf I just got as a Christmas present from my sister. It's adorbs. So yeah.

Cheers

Boy sweater, girl boots

Today was super windy and I didn't want to wear a beanie so I wore my awesome navy blue headband. It added that feminine touch to my otherwise butch look, hah! My sweatshirt is actually a man's sweater, but I just couldn't pass up the mustard color. I think it looks a lil too fem for a guy anyway, which is why when I do wear it, I wear a cute necklace, or in today's case, a sparkly headband!

headband- H&M, sweatshirt- H&M $12.95, jeans-papaya, boots- just fab
Unfortunately, I couldn't hang wearing my boots today! The heels felt loose or something and I rolled my ankle a bit. Not cool. So I caved and bought a pair of flats. But all is well because I needed cute flats because the other pair I have hate feet and want to see them die. Dramatic, yes, but true.

laziness and shoes

Today was one of those days that my laziness almost got the best of me. I was ready to put on leggings, a sweatshirt and my "uggs" and call it a day, but I couldn't let myself. I did, however, let myself put on jeggings, ha! I would call today's outfit pretty casual, so I put on my super cute boots and voila, outfit made. I was pretty lazy about doing my hair today, so that called for a beanie, but it worked, then I had to work.
beanie-H&M, lightweight top-H&M, jeggings- Forever 21, boots "Betina"-justfab.com
It was a long slow day that only got sweeter when I came home and yay, my Just Fab order was waiting for me! I've been wanting a pair of sexy, black stilettos since I saw a really great Jessica Simpson pair at Macy's. . . for $150! Ridiculous, right? Then out of nowhere I get an email from Just Fab about their BOGO sale and found a pair that was pretty much exactly like the J Simp's (only cheaper). Both shoes came out to $43 with tax, say what!

The Fairlee stiletto is super high, and super sexy. Can't wait to wear these bad girls on a date with my leather leggings or a LBD. Fierce!!!
"Fairlee"- just fab

The second pair I chose were the Lorraina's. They have a chunky heel and are leather and suede. They'll look fantastic with shorts or dresses, perfect for spring and summer. Thank God for Just Fab and amazing shoes. I'm a happy girl!
